Prison Fellowship International (PFI) operates in Kazakhstan with a mission to bring hope and restoration to prisoners, their families, and victims of crime. Through spiritual guidance, education, and practical support, the ministry aims to transform lives, reduce recidivism, and foster reconciliation.
PFI in Kazakhstan focuses on:
Sharing the Gospel: Bringing the message of God’s forgiveness and redemption to inmates.
Supporting Families: Providing care for the families of prisoners, including emotional and financial assistance.
Rehabilitation Programs: Offering life skills training, counseling, and reentry support to help former inmates reintegrate into society.
In the East, Brother Sergey is actively developing this ministry, leveraging his personal relationships to build trust and expand outreach. Recently, we received 20 Faith Comes By Hearing projects in Almaty and hope to deliver them soon to Sergey to further strengthen the work in the region.
In Almaty County, another branch of PFI is working diligently to gain access to local prisons, striving to extend the reach of this transformative ministry. We remain hopeful and prayerful that these efforts will soon lead to open doors.
The main breakthrough happened last week, when the local prison for teenagers in Almaty invited the president of PFI Kazakhstan, Tomas Tomassov, to visit them next week. This is a significant step forward and an opportunity to bring hope and spiritual restoration to young lives.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving Day, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to God and to each of you who stand with us in prayer, support, and encouragement. May His abundant blessings be upon you and your families during this season of gratitude and joy.
We also ask for your prayers:
For the upcoming visit of Tomas Tomassov to the teenage prison in Almaty.
For continued breakthroughs in Almaty County and other regions.
For God’s guidance and favor as we bring hope to prisoners, their families, and victims of crime.
This ministry exemplifies compassion and Christ’s love in action, fostering healing and hope within the justice system. Thank you for your support!
With love and respect to you all,
Tomas and the team of PF Kazakhstan

Dorothy Day’s powerful words, “I really only love God as much as I love the person I love the least,” challenge us to reconsider how we express love and compassion, especially towards those we find hardest to accept. Day, co-founder of the Catholic Worker Movement, devoted her life to serving marginalized communities, and her message encourages us to extend love to all people—not just those easy to love. Prison Fellowship's work echoes this, calling us to embrace every person’s humanity and potential for redemption, even in difficult contexts. Through this lens, true faith means confronting our biases and reaching out in love.

This past week, I had the privilege of spending time with Prison Fellowship Romania, an experience that left a profound impact on me. I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of the TPJ (The Prisoner’s Journey) program at two of the 17 participating prisons. It was a remarkable opportunity to join their dedicated TPJ coordinator, Romeo, and a team of compassionate volunteers, as they walked alongside inmates during their lessons. Seeing lives touched and hope renewed within those prison walls was deeply moving. May God continue to bless Prison Fellowship Romania and the incredible work they are doing to bring light, healing, and change where it is most needed.

This is an article about smart prisons and artificial intelligence systems in Finland. It discusses the implementation of these systems in two Finnish prisons. The systems allow inmates to access digital services, communicate with the outside world, and participate in e-consultations. The systems are also designed to help with offender rehabilitation and reintegration. There are some security concerns associated with the use of these systems. However, the Finnish Prison and Probation Service believes that the benefits outweigh the risks.

We met with prison officials to discuss the potential for implementing APAC-style prison models and had the unique opportunity to witness one of their "open" prisons firsthand. It was an inspiring experience, and I truly believe God has amazing things in store for Jiřice and beyond, impacting the entire Czech prison system.

Set against the stunning backdrop of an 18th-century palace, the atmosphere was one of elegance and gratitude. Classical music filled the air, creating a harmonious ambiance that perfectly complemented the occasion. It was truly a night to remember, celebrating the heart and soul of a community united by compassion and a shared vision for transformation.

Seehaus (Prison Fellowship Germany) recently held a symposium where the topics of conversation were "New considerations for victim support and criminal law." Of course, these all build around the theme of Restorative Justice.
I have roughly translated the seven considerations, as they are equally relevant to Germany as to most other countries around Europe and Central Asia. You might find these well articulated considerations useful to introduce into your own ministry thinking as well.

Ivanov: "The program helped me take God seriously and pray every day before going to bed. This helped me endure the prison routine and improved my psychology and comfort in communication. The program is a small break from the daily life we experience as prisoners."

I really liked the enthusiasm of the managers who devote a week of their summer vacation to childcare. I was also moved by the children's gratitude, which the youngest were able to express very directly, and the older ones by how they often said goodbye on the last day with tears in their eyes. This year I am looking forward to new experiences and challenges that such a camp always brings.'
"Now, after my prison journey with Jesus, I no longer see Him as a prison guard with a key who has to unlock my cell door, but as the One who has unlocked my heart's door towards freedom from sin and shown me the way to live a sin-free life. That's the difference that makes sense." Konstantin

In 2001, Charity Navigator was founded with the vision of empowering generous individuals with valuable resources to make informed decisions about their charitable giving. Since then, they have evaluated more than 20,000 organizations, providing donors with essential insights into the impact of their contributions.
We recently submitted data to obtain a rating on Charity Navigator's "Impact and Measurement" beacon, which evaluates the impact we have on the lives of those we serve and how well we track progress toward our mission's outcomes.
The results were resoundingly positive and we scored 97 out of 100 points for the Measurement assessment, which evaluates:
- Program planning and design
- Program development
- Data collection and analysis
- Result reporting and distribution
- Use of results
This rating is a testament to the efficiency, stability and sustainability that you enable this ministry to maintain, as assessed through a rigorous evaluation process based on clearly outlined criteria. Learn more by checking out our rating page.

I recently received information of the passing of our dear brother Ivan Sotirov on 23rd May. Many of you will remember him as having been a key figure in growing the PFI family across our region. Furthermore he supported me in re-establishing contact with a number of people important to PFI but with whom we had lost contact during the time of transition.
Unfortunately, I do not have contact details of next of kin and hence am not able to pass on messages of condolence. However, this is a moment to reflect on a life well lived and to be thankful that Ivan now rests in peace.
YOUR MESSAGES can be found by expanding this box:
Peace be to all!
May the Lord rest the soul of Ivan in the place where His grace is shining forever!
In the early days of growth of PFI towards the ex-communist countries in Eastern Europe first person to be responsible for the region was Ronald Babb, at that time Regional director for Europe. Soon it was decided that countries in Eastern and Southern Europe have great potential or re-establishing prison ministry after the communist regimes and hence a dedicated person to this region. At that time Ivan being a Bulgarian representative in United Nations in New York (as part of the last communist government in Bulgaria) found himself in the most difficult time of his life being recently fired from the first non-communist Bulgarian government. He decided to remain as an immigrant in USA and to begin a new life with his family. Our Good Lord found Ivan’s sorrow and struggle and called him to become a Christian. Soon after his repentance and life change PFI appointed Ivan as a regional director for Easter Europe. Since than his tireless efforts and his nice soul with heart full of compassion and dedication, with the Lord’s blessing, made Eastern Europe a region with many new established nations prison ministries. We can say that Ivan with the great support of Ron Nikkel and Chuck Colson made the foundation of today PFI Eastern Europe and Central Asia region. He managed to move the European office from Washington to Vevey, Switzerland and to raise significant financial support from within the region and around the world. The time Ivan was Regional Director was a time of enthusiasm and blossoming of many friendships and big achievements in the national ministries. Many other things can be said for Ivan, but our prayers are most needed for his soul.
Memory eternal, memory eternal, memory eternal!
Fr. Nikolai

Dear Hugh,
So very sorry to hear of the passing of dear Ivan.
We travelled together and spent time together in a few of the European National ministries. Isobel and I attended his wedding and had them both as guests in our home when he and I visited the UK Overseas Development Office here in East Kilbride. I also have fond memories of being together in Iceland the Ukraine and the PFI Europe office in Switzerland. I will pass word on to Dominique who served with him in the Swiss office.
Please let me know if you get further word to enable me to send my condolences,

As for PF Switzerland and for me he was always a dear and very helpful friend. With his skills of a former diplomat and his knowledge of several languages, so as English, Russian, Bulgarian and French, he was – as you mentioned it – a key figure for the development of PF in Western and Eastern Europe from the midst of 1990’s to his resignment, helping also a lot of PF Ministries to overcome personal and structural difficulties.
May he rest in the peace with his Lord Jesus Christ who he always wanted to serve and love.
Blessing for you and your team, too
Freundliche Grüsse

Natalia Pacheco Rojas (left) is my new boss - and she lives on Los Angeles and leads the Global Field Development Team with Young Life that I joined full time in October. She is also a wise and compassionate leader and it’s been a privilege to get to serve on her team. Here is a picture of Naty and Clarissa (right) - a college student from Tirana, who is a part of our Developing Global Leaders (DGL) program for Young Life. DGL college students go to school for four years and receive mentoring, leadership development, and a scholarship to cover school costs - and they serve and lead in the local Young Life area. Clarissa Shared her testimony on the Friday night in Tirana, and her story is brutal and yet hopeful.
Clarissa’s father was an abusive alcoholic - and he would often physically abuse her and her siblings and mother. At one point it got so bad that he pushed her mother off of a balcony and she broke both her arms and legs, which got him arrested and sentenced to prison and allowed their family to find safety. She didn’t really believe in God but she was concerned for her father in prison and began to pray he wouldn’t get hurt in prison - even though she was angry at him and wounded from the abuse. While he was in prison, her father wrote down a list of all the people he was angry at and who he blamed for him being on prison, and who he wanted to hurt when he got out. But, while he was in jail he got connected to a group called Prison Fellowship who works with prisoners doing Bible studies, and helping into them learn to heal and change their lives by following Jesus. Her father got involved in the group - and as Clarissa began to visit him in jail he apologized, tried to make amends and started to change. He got out after many years and when he did he tore up the list of people he wanted to hurt and began living a changed life - and when she saw the changes in his life she knew there had to be a God and that he could change even the worst people with no hope. Around this time she started getting to know her local YL leader in Tirana and got involved in a Bible study and started to grow in her own faith. A future leader of Albania blessed by the Body of Christ in prisons and neighborhoods who were seeking out the lost and powerless in Jesus name. What a gift!

Rev Jo Davies, a chaplain in London, is delighted that Sycamore Tree is running again in her prison. She says,“Sycamore Tree is transformational! I am always impressed by the speed with which men become aware of their victims and recognise the impact of their crimes. Such is the positive reaction to the course that it was the first activity we were allowed to reintroduce in our prison after the complete lockdown during Covid-19. Our entire Senior Management Team recognised that it was essential to allow Sycamore Tree to run again. They prioritised making it happen because it prevents reoffending and transforms lives—not only of people inside prison but also of possible future victims on the outside.”
2024 marks 10 years of running this powerful program and we are excited to share our celebration video to mark this momentous achievement. The impact, stories and transformation you will see are a testament to the work of God and our brothers and sisters around the world.

WASHINGTON and FORT WORTH, Texas, March 26, 2024 /Standard Newswire/ -- Prison Fellowship International (PFI) and Eastern European Mission (EEM) have signed a new agreement to provide 71,000 adult, 8,500 teen and 34,500 child-friendly Bibles to seven PFI national affiliates across Eastern Europe
I have just added PRISONS AROUND THE WORLD to our PFI Data Hub.
This is a beautiful new feature which has the capability of showing exactly where we are working to the exact prison location all around the world!
Access to prisons is not simply a factor of good relations with prison authorities and the right legal framework. Political instability or war leads many countries to restrict or close their prisons to civil society. Due to this, our access to prisons may fluctuate wildly. NMs need to be opportunistic in taking advantage of access whenever possible, while understanding the risk that their programs could be suspended at any time. The World Bank publishes a score out of 100 which measures a countries political stability and absence of violence or terrorism. Based on our experience, there is a strong correlation between countries that score less than 30 points and unstable or no access to prisons. Globally, 65 countries have a stability rating of less than or equal to 30 points. Of these, PFI has NMs in 43 countries.
Let's thank God for all those NMs who are accessing prisons amidst very difficult circumstances. Let's thank God for all the lives we are able to touch with the love of Jesus. Let's ask God for favor when decisions are being made to limit prison access.
Chek up some higlights on the upcoming events!
Restrictions to religious freedom are not simply a matter of law, some are also through social hostilities. In many post-Christian countries across Europe, these social hostilities are on the rise and are heavily impacting NM ability to conduct Bible-based, prison ministry.
Pew Research Center's 10 point index considers the following for all faiths:
Hostilities related to religious norms
Inter-religious tension and violence
Religious violence by organized groups
Individual and social group harassment
53 countries have a hostility score of greater than 5. PFI has NMs in 28 of those countries.
Since PFI's focus is on freedom to conduct Christian ministry, our picture is complex. It's even more complex when we account for divisions amongst powerful Christian denominations.
Pray that as Christians, we may unite and show strength in the face of a rise of secularism turning to radical atheism. Pray that our NMs will reap a great harvest to turn the tide.
Here is a testimony which will encourage all volunteers from prison ministry to continue their valuable work.
Claudia, a prisoner from Netherlands said: ``It is so important that there are volunteers in prisons. They show you that you are not just a monster that needs to be locked up. It's nice that there is someone who looks after you. That you know you matter. That you too are of value. We can pray together and talk about faith.”
Anti-conversion laws can be split into four categories:
Anti-proselytisation laws (cannot attempt to convert people's religious beliefs)
Anti-interfaith marriage laws (cannot marry someone of another religion)
Anti-conversion laws (cannot convert faith from one religion to another)
Criminalisation of apostasy (refusing to follow, obey or recognize national religion)
46 countries globally have one or more of these laws. 10 of these are outside of the 10/40 window that we detailed last week – you will be surprised by some! We have 20 NMs in these countries.
These laws provide an additional level of challenge to the ministry of our NM partners. Let's praise God for our NMs and their volunteers who risk so much to bring the love of Jesus to those ready to hear.
A story from PF Netherlands: ``Klaas is in a wheelchair. Two years ago he suffered a brain haemorrhage, which made it more difficult for him to walk. He has a cell in the department in which some adjustments have been made, so that he can now shower independently, for example. He feels at ease here, both with the prison staff and with his fellow prisoners.``

``The European Day of Victims of Crime is commemorated every year on 22 February. To mark this occasion, we organized an event called "An Apology Act". The point was to express remorse for the crimes that occurred. A total of 15 convicted men from the so-called Open Prison in Jiřice met in a circle with candles in hand and honored the memory of the victims' suffering.`` PF Czech

There are about 67 countries in the 10/40 window.
Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Animism, Atheism, and Sikhism are the principle religions.
67% of the worlds population live here and the majority are considered the poorest of the poor.
WE as PFI have 31 NMs within this window.
It is extraordinarily tough to bring the gospel directly into prisons in the window.
Let's praise God for the opportunities we are already using and pray for new creative methods!

Discussing future plans for Ukraine
It was such a privilege to have representatives from Ukraine & Romania come out to visit us here in Germany. The Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Justice Olena Vysotska, the Deputy Head of the Corrections Department together with the Executive Director of Prison Fellowship Ukraine Viacheslav Kogut, Anastasia Kogut (PF Ukraine) and Andrei Brie, the Executive Manager of Prison Fellowship Romania.
We had a wonderful time of fellowship throughout the day. We learned a lot about the continued relief efforts with the on going war in Ukraine. There was a tour of the Seehaus facilities and further discussions about future joint projects for Ukraine. Lastly, at the end of the day, PF Ukraine was able to share more about who they are and what they are doing with potential new donors. We thank God for this very beneficial and encouraging time.

Igor : “I wish I knew God before I went to prison, I wish I had made this choice earlier. If only that was the only way for me to know that God forgives me and died for me on the cross. I am so grateful to have taken this course and learned so much about Him while serving my sentence. I learned so much about myself and about God. I want to be a better person for my family and I know I'm on the right path. Thank you so much, that you care and pray for me.
When justice is used as a synonym for judgment we miss the point of justice. The prisons of the world are bursting at the seams with offenders who have been judged guilty and are being punished for wrongdoing. Prisons are a failure. In fact, justice is not achieved through imprisonment. Ron and Andy have dedicated their lives to pursuing justice and mercy in response to criminal offenders. In many respects, prisons are the most spiritual places on earth. It is in prison where the great questions of humanity converge--questions of guilt and forgiveness, good and evil, retribution and redemption, hope and despair, life and death, guilt and forgiveness, judgment and mercy. Where is God in the midst of all of this? Is God even relevant, does God care? And if God cares, does that make any difference to the justice we seek? Ron has likely been in more prisons in more countries than any other person. He has been in the very best of prisons and the prisons that can only be described as "hellholes." In their journey through the prisons of the world, both Ron and Andy have encountered Jesus--God imprisoned with men and women in the margins of respectability and human dignity; God of all righteousness and justice, love, and mercy embracing offenders in the depths of their human condition.
It's exciting to be part of our global network under the banner of PFI. By being one family makes collaboration so much easier and even fun.
Last week PF Czech Republic held a very successful APAC conference to introduce Czech prison authorities to this concept. Just imagine, Tobias, Marcus, Hans and Valdeci Ferreira could be there to support the agenda. Congratulations to Gabriella for a great event.
Then last week, after much communication, an ex prisoner from Romania could be repatriated from Malasia thanks to close collaboration between PF Romania and PF Malasia. There is a similar story playing out between PF Netherlands and PF Greece as we speak.
Then a couple of weeks ago, Rodric the ED from PF Malawi could visit Seehaus here in Germany to compare notes about alternatives to normal prisons. PF Malawi has recently got permission to convert a half way house to an APAC type prison.
There is also an open invitation from Father Nikolai in Bulgaria to visit his thriving prison ministry. You are welcome to spend a few days with him to learn and share experiences. A win win for all. Feel free to reach out to Fr. Nikolai for more information.

CONGRATULATIONS to Tobias and the team for the amazing journey they are on! It is a real inspiration for us all.
AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
I heard someone ask the following question on the radio that made me stop and think: What would happen tomorrow if you woke up with only what you thanked God for today?
As soon as I heard the question I thought, "What have I thanked God for today?" Then, "Have I even thanked God today?"
The Bible is full of verses that tell us the importance of giving thanks to God. In his book, "Before Amen," Max Lucado states (100+ times!) that, either by imperative or by example, the Bible commands us to be thankful. We know from Luke 17:18 about Jesus' disappointment when only one of the healed lepers returned to give thanks and glorify God.
Thankfulness and living our lives in an attitude that truly reflects our gratitude to God should be second nature to us. As Christ followers, we should be known for giving thanks to Him.
James 1:17 tells us that "every good and perfect gift is from God," and 1 Thessalonians tells us to "give thanks to God in situation." God loved us so much that He sent His only son to die for us.
Please take time today to really thank God, giving Him all the glory, honor and praise that He deserves. l pray that you will make the choice to live every day with an attitude of gratitude.

Nazari Qasim is one of the Afghan youth who attended this term and he was very focused on the program and never missed a single lesson and took notes on every lesson and every time he had questions and wrote them down in the notebook for us to explain next time. This fact encouraged others to take an active part in the lesson.
Rostemi Masud says: the lesson we are doing reminds me of the school I went to in my home country in Iran. So for a while I feel like I'm not in prison. I wish the lessons were longer!
Evgheni Pujalov from Ukraine said: Of the programs I did in prison, I think the most important is this program because we talk about God and I feel that he unites us and forgives us of our sins. I didn't know there was such a thing for us. I thought God was for good people, but I learned that Christ hung out with sinful people and is a friend of sinners. I like that we hear things about God and that there are people who help us. When I get out of here I want to go to church and leave my past. I've made a lot of mistakes in my life and I don't want to come in here again.
Arsalan from Iran who was the translator and present in all the programs along with other compatriots, as they heard about Christian water baptism they had a desire to be baptized in water. The conditions in there are not suitable for baptizing, so when he was released 2 months ago he called us and wants to be baptized in water. A week ago he was kicked out of the house where he lived because some of his fellow countrymen made a fuss and so the owner threw him out on the street. He had nowhere to go and asked us for help if we can help him. For a moment I thought that our ministry with the incarcerated ends when they get out and are free. But you can't take heart in such cases when your brother is homeless. As he himself told me, he did not expect it to be so difficult outside the prison. So we decided to host him temporarily for 2 to 3 months in a hospitality space that we have prepared in our offices, until he finds a job and can stand on his own and join society. At the same time, he himself attends the church we suggested to him every Sunday morning. We are preparing to baptize him and to invite other compatriots
I have discovered that making Jesus known using words is far from simple. Witnessing with one's life, is a beautiful commitment, but making Jesus known through words is quite another challenge!
I understood that volunteering for The Prisoners Journey would shake me up, but also improve my relationship with God. I would need to dig deep and go back to the essence of my faith.
During our eight-hour training, we did simulations of how to deliver the course to prisoners. This experience reminded me of my recent experience cleaning out my kitchen cupboards! Over time I had accumulated a lot of things, all of which were useful but many of which I hardly ever used. When tidying up, I put such items at the back of the cupboards or at the very top or bottom! Only the really useful things got front positions, well in sight and easy to access.
Well, yesterday I understood that in the cupboard of the evangelist you need few things but the right ones.
I understood that Jesus speaks to simple people in simple ways.
I understood that, if I leave for the mission, I must become simple again in my thinking and speaking, just as Jesus was.
I thank Jesus because even when I was still thinking about whether to say "yes" to this mission, He had already started preparing me; even if this was whilst clearing my kitchen!
Rýnovice Prison - Czech Republic
Testimony of a new friendship
Dear readers, I would like to share with you a real-life story about two friends and the testimony they shared in the chapel of Rýnovice prison. Before I start telling this true story, I have to go back in time to introduce to you the two protagonists and shed some light on their previous lives. The story starts with gossip, hatred, pain, and fear, but ends with reconciliation, understanding, cooperation, forgiveness, and hope.
There were once two young men who lived in the same town. They knew about each other but hadn't met yet. What they had in common was that they were both drug addicts. At some point, they finally met and became friends, although I am not sure you can call a relationship between two addicts a friendship. Anyway, they started spending more time together, selling drugs together, and supporting one another.
But as expected, the drugs eventually took their toll. The drugs started tearing them apart, destroying the core of their being. Their characters changed, and so to their priorities. They started badmouthing each other, stealing from one another, and generally hurting each other. I cannot say which of the individuals was worse. They both share the blame for what happened between them. They started hating each other to such an extent that it could not end well. Eventually revenge and retaliation followed. It went so far that one of them contributed to the other ending up in prison. And even then, they hadn't stopped. The one who was not in prison continued to do bad things to the other one until he too ended up in prison!
Even though they landed up in different prisons, the hatred didn't stop. They both spent their evenings thinking about how they would get back at each other when they got out.
Back then, they had no idea that their paths would cross sooner than they imagined. They would end up standing side by side, face to face in the same prison. What none of them could imagine actually happened. And so, they crossed paths once more, and it happened in the strangest place one could ever imagine. That place was the chapel of Rýnovice prison, and they met because they both, independent of each other, decided to enroll in the program called The Prisoner's Journey.
Now I will tell the story about their new friendship, about the day when they saw each other again after a very long time, about what their souls went through when they encountered each other on The Prisoner's Journey.
I think that on that day they met again, they both had very mixed feelings about what was going to happen and doubts about where it was going to lead. But God wanted their paths to cross again, and they even ended up sitting next to each other in the chapel. And as they sat there, they started talking and sharing their lives again, explaining each other's point of view, and most of all, apologizing to each other. The idea of forgiveness started taking shape.
With each subsequent meeting, their relationship flourished. They started cooperating and reading the Gospel of Mark together. They watched videos of bad deeds that ended in compassion and hope. They even drew the scene of the Last Supper, which is all about betrayal but also forgiveness. And instead of war, peace entered their lives. Out of hatred came a new, true, and pure friendship—a friendship without drugs. They promised each other they would no longer pursue revenge once they were released. In fact, they were quite sad that The Prisoner's Journey was ending.
Not only did they find out about our Lord Jesus and the reasons why he came to the world, but they also resolved a long-standing conflict between them, forgave each other, and became friends again.
This is a true testimony about the events that occurred during The Prisoner's Journey in the chapel of the Rýnovice prison.
Everything written above is true, God be my witness, because I was one of the two friends!
Ephesians 4:31-32, Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Many National Ministries join PFI to become part of a worldwide family of prison ministries.
As I have come to know each of you better, so I have also come to appreciate our interconnectedness even more.
Unfortunately, my mind has become saturated, and have begun losing track of important linkages you have been sharing with me 😐
So I began researching how to keep track of social networks, in our case, the PFI family!
To cut a long story short, this is a well developed science which brings order to extreme complexity.
Below is a snapshot that gives you a flavor of our family network around the world!
It's just the beginning, but I am excited, as I think we now have a way to harness software to encourage more connections and ultimately ministry growth 😃

"We are not healers, we are not reconcilers, we are not givers of life. We are sinful, broken, vulnerable people who need just as much care as we give to others. The secret of ministry is that we have been chosen to make our limited and very conditional love a gateway to the unlimited and unconditional love of God. Therefore, true service must be mutual service".
Henri Nouwen called, “In the Name of Jesus Christ”.
With thanks for PF CZ for sharing

The team at Baylor University has a paper under review in the Journal of Crime and Justice titled "Virtuous Effects of Religion on Negative Emotions among Offenders in a Colombian Prison."
The study provides empirical evidence of the virtuous effect of religion on mental health among prisoners. More specifically, that a prisoner’s participation in religious programs and practices leads to 1) the development of positive virtues including forgiveness, self-control and gratitude and 2) a reduction in anger, depression, and anxiety.
This study affirms the mission of our in-prison programs, including The Prisoner’s Journey (TPJ). Read it in full here!
